These tasks provide an exemplar tool for teachers to measure student progress against the benchmarks. Rubrics can be used to measure a student's technology proficiency through an authentic task, and are generic enough, in most cases, to be used in any content area in which technology is being integrated into the classroom curriculum. Each assessment task takes the form of an extended written response, a performance, or a personal communication, allowing the student to demonstrate deeper understanding of the content.
